Hi! I moved to the Houston area from Chicago, about 8 months ago, so this will be my first summer here! I'm a ballet dancer, and I have an evening job at a fine dining restaurant . My previous experiences with children have been very warm and fun! I've nannied, babysat, and instructed ballet classes with children, and I want to continue to positively influence young ones. My experience as a Babysitter/Mother's Helper/Nanny/Ballet Instructor: I was a mother's helper for 3 months to a wonderful family, who I'd also babysat for years. The mother had just undergone hip surgery, and she needed help with daily activities such as, help with meals, homeschooling, running errands, driving her to appointments, some cleaning, and just generally caring for the kids. I've been a babysitter for 7 years, and for several different families. I was a Ballet Instructor for 2 different dance schools in Read more Illinois, for beginning, and intermediate Ballet, which included, teaching technique through team effort, using creativity to describe movement, working with parents through communication on a weekly basis to keep them updated on their child's progress, choreographing an end of the year piece for the class, which meant, making decisions in music choice, lighting, costumes, and scheduling special times for rehearsal. I absolutely love the whole process, and I'm hoping to return to teaching in the near future. I also taught private Ballet lessons to 4 different girls at my in-home studio, which was also a great privilege! I also partnered with a mother from my previous church, to start a Ballet class for the children during Wednesday night services. It was a success, and I taught ten girls, ages 3-9, for an hour each week. We performed in front of the church twice, the first being a Christmas special, with rave reviews, and the second, an Easter dance, which marked the end of our fun year. So fulfilling! In closing, I have 7 years experience, and am also the oldest daughter of a large family. I'm looking to babysit a few days per week, during the day.
