For three years I worked at an after-school care program for elementary school kids throughout my school district. I worked with children in groups of 15+ kids anywhere from kinder through fifth grade. I learned many different ways to teach and interact with kids and it taught me to work well in chaotic situations because with that many kids there is always something going on. Through this program I have worked with many children with disabilities including but limited to; non-verbal children, kids with ADHD, children with Aspergers, dyslexic children, etc. During the past two summers, through the same program, I worked summer camps with over 100 kids the same ages, with around 25 kids in my group at all times. I am extremely close with my two twin nieces who are 18 months, and my two year old niece, who have given me a lot of experience babysitting children Read more that young. I am CPR certified and life guard certified. I've done this for so long because I love children, and I love feeling like I have made an impact in a child's life.
