I have been babysitting and watching children since I was 11! I have always loved playing with them, teaching them as well as being responsible for them. This past year I had the amazing experience of being a part of my High Schools Peer Leadership Team (PLT). As a member of PLT, I taught refusal skills to elementary aged kids. I loved being in the class room. Another part of PLT was serving at the Kauri Sue Hamilton School. Kauri Sue is a school for kids with severe disabilities. The kids I worked with were all in a wheelchair. None of them could talk, walk, or even eat by mouth. This summer, I have had the opportunity to work as one of the main teachers in a classroom at Kauri Sue and I have loved it! I have enjoyed planning lessons that involves these kids. I love how happy they Read more are, even in the circumstances they are in. This job puts a lot of pressure on me because they are so medically fragile, and I take the job very seriously. In additon to these things, I have worked with young girls at a dance studio for four years. I not only teach them dance, but I also teach them life skills.
