I am a mother to a wonderful 3 year old boy. I graduated from Utah State University with a bachelors degree in Teacher Education and Leadership. I took several courses involving children from birth to 12 years of age. I worked in the Adele Child Laboratory for a summer in the 4 year old class and I also worked as a teacher at Bear River Head Start with the 3 year old class. I love children! My favorite activities to do with children involve reading, science experiments, and music. Books are such a good way for young children to gain vocabulary and stretch their imaginations. The best thing to do after reading a favorite book of a child is act it out with them and explore different feeling the characters may be having or different ways the story could have gone. Science experiments are an awesome way to develop young Read more children analytical and problem solving skills. Children are naturally curious and should be encouraged to ask the question, "What if..." and of course any preschoolers favorite question, "Why?" Music develops the mind of even the tiniest infant. When you see a mother rocking her child she is teaching her child rhythm. Children are hardwired for music and rhymes. Being able to learn and repeat rhythm actually develops the skills set that the child will need to draw on later in life when they are trying to read for comprehension. Music (like books) is also a wonderful way for children to build vocabulary. I'd love to help you with your child(ren)! Contact me so we can discuss how I can best help you and your family.
