I am currently a Sophomore at Virginia Commonwealth University and I am majoring in Elementary Education. My love for kids and passion for teaching is what helped me decide on a career in teaching. All throughout high school I babysat my three younger cousins, they were between the ages of 2 and 8. My responsibilities included bathing, driving them to soccer practice, putting to sleep, reading bedtime stories and taking them outside for various activities. During my spring break this year I decided to do a program through VCU called alternative spring break, we volunteered at the McNeilly Child Center located in Nashville, Tennessee. The McNeilly Child Center is a pre-school for underprivileged children, we worked there everyday for 4 hours and the children were between the ages of 2 and 5. My responsibilities included playing various educational games with the children, reading to them and eating lunch with them. Read more I also volunteer at a local elementary school in Richmond near VCU called St. Andrews, St. Andrews is a private school for low-income families. My responsibilities at St. Andrews was to mainly work with the children after school, which would include working on homework, reading, arts and crafts and going outside for recess. I am trained in CPR and have a driver's license and reliable transportation to get me to and from where I will be babysitting. Some of skills include cooking, cleaning and being an enthusiastic and creative babysitter to watch over your children. I can guarantee you that I will be very reliable, friendly, respectful and will always set the right example for your children. Your children will be in great hands if they are left with me!
