I have a natural gift working with children. I was a child photographer for several years. I was the only photographer in my studio who could turn the screaming and crying of a 2-yr old into laughter and smiles. Most recently I've been helping out my best friend with her two sons, both under the age of 2, quite the handful! I have a full-time job during the day. I'm a contractor for the Dept. of Defense. The US Government conducted a thorough investigation on me to determine that I am loyal, trustworthy, reliable, and of good character. You can take comfort in knowing that I do not have a criminal background. "Why should I hire you over a young student" you might ask. Well, for one, I'm not going to spend my time texting or surfing the net while I'm supposed to be interacting your children. I'm old enough to remember what human interaction is, and you can be assured Read more that I will interact with your children while they are in my care. I'm also well beyond my "drinking years" so I won't be breaking into your alcohol cabinet or stealing from your beer stash. You also won't have to worry about other typical teenage stuff while I'm watching your kids, such as; inviting friends or boyfriends over and having parties in your house. I am mature and responsible and your children will be much safer with me! My philosophy on caregiving is that kids, no matter what age, are actually smarter than we adults may think. They are so impressionable, and I want to make nothing but positive impressions on any child I meet. I also believe the world is our classroom. Things that adults take for granted are learning experiences for children. I like to take the time to show kids how something feels, the texture of something, the color of it, whatever. Nature is cool, and they need to learn to appreciate it. It's never too early to teach them manners. I always say please and thank you, even to children, and I try to get them to do the same. I will not curse in front of your child either.
