Valeska is a great babysitter! She is very interactive with my child! Taking her on walks, playing with her and giving her lots of love! She really focuses on your little one, and never seems distracted. I trust her completely with my daughter!! Not only is she great with the baby, but she also helps me around the house. Making food, doing the dishes, and helping with a little office work. She truly is a dream to have! We love you, V!

I'm sorry to have to be a dissenting opinion among the sea of good reviews here, but my experience with Valeska was nothing like those others here. Valeska and I had exchanged a few messages about a nanny position, but she failed to respond to a request to give details of her previous employment. Precisely because of the glowing reviews on this site I gave her the benefit of the doubt and called her on the phone to invite her to our home to interview with my wife and me. We set a specific time on a weekend day, and I followed up with a message on this site confirming the date, time, and our address. Unfortunately, Valeska never showed up for the interview, and never bothered to call or email, telling us that she wouldn't show up or explaining after the fact why she failed to show up. WIth two kids, it's hard to set weekend time aside just to have someone disrespect your time like that. Obviously I cannot comment as to her actual child care abilities, but my experience certainly gives some insight into her reliability.

Valeska has been our afternoon nanny every weekday since the middle of September 2010 and there is no way that I could run our house without her. I am (temporarily) a single Dad with four children (5-year old twins, a 3-year old son, and a 6-month old infant son) and I have a full-time job that would be impossible to keep without her expert assistance. She has been filling in as a Mother and running our house for me whenever I need her. She drives our vehicle to three separate locations (including Fort Belvoir) each afternoon to pick up the children and bring them home. She cooks and serves their meals, washes their clothes, prepares lunches and snacks for the next day and takes them through their evening bedtime routine. She reads to them, plays with them and loves them all as if they were her own. She is punctual, dependable and 100% reliable. Her flexibility has enabled me to take overnight trips on occasion and keep late hours when necessary. She has my highest possible endorsement and I would gladly vouch for her with any future employer. If we weren't leaving the country, she would be staying on as our nanny...even after the return of Mom!

Valeska was wonderful. My children ages 7 and 5 just loved her and really enjoyed spending the day with her. I needed a babysitter last minute and valesak quickly responded and was great. We even scheduled her to babysit this weekend!!. She is a great match and very responsible. Thank you!!

We created our account on a Monday and needed a sitter for that Friday. Or normal sitter was not available and we needed to step out of our comfort zone to rely on others to sit for the kids. Valeska responded within hours of my initial post. She interviewed with us on Wednesday and sat with the kids on Friday. The kids loved her. She interacts with all of them wonderfully. The boys (9&7) warmed up very well and sister (2) enjoyed her company and seemed to feel safe. Valeska is willing to compromise and is great with kids. Was a pleasure for the kids.

Valeska did an amazing job with our 3 year old son, Alex. it was only the third time we had left him with a sitter and were very nervous about doing so. She made us feel relaxed as soon as she arrived at our home. Our son is still talking about "Leska" and wants her to come back soon.

Valeska responded to my posting quickly. When I met with her the first time, she immediately made my two year old son comfortable by bringing out toys and playing with him. He had never been babysat outside of our home, but Valeska distracted him when I left and he didn't cry once. When I picked him up, he was happy and didn't want to leave. He was excited to go see her again the next week. Valeska has a recurring position with me, and although I live in Alexandria, I will definitely call her any time I need a sitter in her area.

Valeska is what you would call a "life saver." She responded to my job so quickly and she was so good with my boys that all I could do was wish she was our Au Pair! Valeska is very mature, professional and has a great heart. I hope she will babysit our boys again!
