Currently I work as an elementary school counselor in a local public school. In the past, I have worked with children and adolescents in a variety of settings, beginning with babysitting (1994-2005) when I was in middle school. From high school through college (1997-2005) I babysat for various families on a regular basis and was a nanny for one family in the summers. In 2003 I completed an internship at Southwood Psychiatric Hospital on an inpatient unit for children and adolescents. In 2006 I began substitute teaching K-12 students in Pittsburgh, Pa. I also worked as an SAT tutor at Huntington Learning Center from 2008-2009. After I attained a Master of Education in School Counseling in 2010, I briefly worked as a substitute teacher in Lynchburg, Va. before I was hired as a school counselor in Middlesex, Va., where I worked as an elementary and middle school counselor from 2011-2013.
