I am finishing my bachelors in Human Services Administration with a focus on Youth/Family services. Currently, I am a Case Manager at a day program that provides services for young adults with developmental disabilities. My goal is to provide the necessary skills for the individuals we serve to be independent in the community. Where as I really enjoy what I do, with my move and finishing up my bachelors I would like to get back to working with children and assisting them in meeting their milestones. Before my current position, I nannied for 5 years. Even though, I do not nanny full time currently, I have kept good relationships with my previous families and still assist them with the occasional weekend help. I have nannied children of all ages and abilities. My duties included light house work, meal prep, safely transporting children to activities and school, and engaging with the Read more children through games and play. With my most recent family I developed a schedule of weekly activities that not only promoted socialization and play but that also incorporated time for learning. Our activities included outings to the library for classes and reading time, to parks, zoos, and museums, as well children plays/concerts. While at home I encouraged reading and writing activities through workbooks, as well as arts and crafts. I also completed a 40 hour teaching practicum for a kindergarten class with children with special needs; while I was completing my associates degree. I had the opportunity to create lesson plans as teach them to the class. I am currently CPR and First Aid Certified as well as received training in Choking and Dysphagia. I also have a clean driving record and a safe and reliable car.
