My name is Beth Lucas and I am a 45-year old mother to a 7-year old son. I was a Probation Officer for 13 years prior to having my son, and given my husband was active military, I resigned my job. As a teenager, I babysat, in college I was a child care provider for three families over a four year period, and after my son turned one, I began taking in kids to watch, no more than three at a time. I am currently working part-time for a family with two boys (now two and four), both of whom I have cared for since they were 12-weeks old. I also have been working on an as-needed basis for another family with one four-year old daughter and a eight month old son. I have worked early mornings, late evenings and overnights. I prefer to work out of my home given Read more my husband travels and there is no one else available to put my son on/get him off the bus. Simply put, I love kids. I find that having my son at an older age has kept me young at heart and I enjoy being silly with them. I was also a life guard for years and was an instructor for the Red Cross (albeit years ago). I cannot work a position that requires me to be away from my home all day or full-time. But if you are looking for a date night, or someone to watch your child a couple of times a week, I am there for you! If you don't mind having your child come to my home, that makes it easier, but if my husband is not traveling, then I am a little more flexible (mostly at night/weekends since someone is home to care for my boy).
