I have always loved being around and working with children. Being the oldest of all of my cousins, I began babysitting for my aunt starting when I was thirteen years old. When I was fifteen, I babysat two boys that grew up on a farm nearby. These boys would love to play baseball and go fishing in the pond behind their house. We were always outside enjoying the free activities that being on their farm gave us. The summers before my Senior year of high school and before my Freshmen year at college, I babysat two girls and got to be very close with them and their family. We would do activities such as going to the library, playing in the park, visiting their great grandmother and swimming in the pool. I still will go see them whenever I am home from college. Being inspired by my love for working Read more with children, I am now a student at Virginia Tech studying to become a Nurse Practitioner specializing in pediatrics so that I can continue to help care for children in the future.
