I am currently enrolled in a two-year special education master's program with George Washington University. I live in the Vienna/ Fairfax area and I am currently looking for a part-time babysitting job preferably in the evenings or weekends. I currently teach as an intern at a high-school in Fairfax County and attend night classes at GW. I have over 9 years of experience working with and teaching children from ages 2-21 years of age. I am CPR and First Aid certified and I also speak Albanian, Spanish and Macedonian in addition to English. Fairfax County Public Schools September 2014- Present George Washington Special Education History Intern Work with high school students in general education and special education classrooms, mainly those with emotional and behavioral disabilities, ADHD and autism. Teach World History 1 and World History 2 to freshman and sophomores and Personal Development. I also help tutor students in study Read more skills and homework habits. Seattle Public Schools- April-June 2014 Instructional Assistant- Preschool Developmentally Delayed Classroom -Worked as a teacher's aid in a classroom with students ages 3-6 with special needs many of whom were "on the spectrum" or autistic. Peace Corps Macedonia- English Education Volunteer September 2011-January 2014 -Co- taught English as a foreign language with three local English teachers to over 300 students 1st- 8th grade. Additionally taught weekly Adult English Conversation classes to 15-20 adults in the village of Pershefce. - Lived with an Albanian host family that had kids ages 8-20 months who I often cared for when I got home from work. Washington State AmeriCorps - Seattle Parks & Recreation-Youth Employment and Service Learning, Seattle, WA October 2010-August 2011 -Coordinated an after-school vocational and life skills program for teens 14-21 with a variety of developmental disabilities; autism, ADD, non-verbal, down syndrome, etc. Early Childhood Education Pre- K Teacher and Day Camp Counselor, YMCA of Columbia Willamette Valley , Portland, OR May 2010-September 2010 -Taught Pre-K classroom of 10-12 children ages 4-5 un-assisted. -Assisted with teaching and supervising other classrooms and day camp with children ages 2.5-11.
