Hi! I began babysitting for families around the area when I was still in high school. I became a regular sitter and fell in love with it. I worked with one family very often with their 4 month old (when I started) and their three year old. I was also working at kohls at the time, part time. Once I graduated I decided I wanted to have a full time job as a babysitter or nanny. I got a job through public partnerships and became the personal care attendant for a little girl with autism. This job has taught me how to deal with stressful situations at any moment and how to handle them properly. I’ve been responsible for getting her to and from school, multiple therapies a week, doctors appointments, the occasional writing practice (as she doesn’t have actual homework), feeding, following along with what her therapists are doing Read more and keeping her schedule and activities consitent with what they’re working on, giving her medication, and providing her with a fun and engaging environment while in my care. I am also on my fourth year of coaching Special Olympics, which has taught me a great deal in responsibility. My coaching (while the best part of my life), is easily the most hand-ons and requires me to adapt fairly quickly to a wide range of situations. My time coaching often has me on trips that place multiple players in my care at a time, for days at a time. I have learned an array of skills from my time babysitting and coaching, such as time management, communication skills, patience, and how much of a difference a little bit of compassion makes when it comes to children and special needs. I take the happiness and well being of those in my care very seriously. I am happy to take children to any activities needed, outdoor activities, art and crafts, tutoring, meal prep/serve, household chores, and anything else needed! I’m also pet friendly and want to accommodate the family as best as I can. My goal is to provide the children with a fun and safe environment and the parents peace of mind while away from their children. I have taken a course on concussion training due to Special Olympics and I have also taken courses on general care for Special needs. I have not yet been CPR certified, but I will be taking that class within the next few months. I also have babysat for multiple families for date nights and emergencies, with children ranging from 4 months to 12 years.
