My name is Haley and I am a Junior at James Madison University. I am a Spanish and Communication Studies double major, as well as a member of the honors program. My hobbies include traveling, serving others, and reading. But you're probably more interested in my experience working with children. I have been babysitting for multiple years- I began as a "mothers helper" when I was 12. From there I have worked with a variety of families with all different age ranges. My largest (and most regular family I cared for) has 4 children. I have also worked special occasions with children from multiple families at once. I believe that the sitter should take the extra step and have an active and engaging role with the children, instead of just turning on the tv. This also means I will try my best to make sure the children complete all of Read more their responsibilities before you return home. My experience with children extends beyond babysitting. This past summer I interned for a large non-profit in Washington DC. This internship allowed me to not only advocate for the rights of children but also spend time every week volunteering at DC summer school programs. I am comfortable working with animals as well. I grew up with yellow labrador retrievers and understand that often times pets are members of the family too. I hope to have the opportunity to meet you and your family!
