Have lots of leadership skills, and a big contributor to volunteering to give back to the community. Coached 3rd – 8th graders Taught basic basketball fundamentals, skills and techniques through station drills, free throw shooting competitions, 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 games played daily. I stressed the importance of positive attitudes, team building, and hard work. I personally was the coach of 3rd through 5th grade my freshmen year, and then 6th through 8th grade my sophomore and junior years. Athlete 2 Athlete officer I helped special needs kids play volleyball basketball, and soccer. Also was the treasurer my senior year, helped the club with finances. I mainly helped a boy with autism that was in second grade. Varsity Club I read to and had 2nd grade students read to me. I would help with words they didn’t know and try to help them become more fluent readers. I would try my Read more best to make them sound out words they didn’t know and not allow them to get discouraged if they were having a hard time. Mentor My Junior year, I was a teacher’s assistant for a small group of 4th grade students, helping them better understand math concepts such as long division, complex multiplication, and scientific notation. My senior year, I mentored one 4th grade child whose parents had moved away. I helped him in anything he needed help in, from basketball to writing poems to doing his math homework. Worked a basketball camp Was a co-leader of a basketball camp for a 7th grade AAU team. Ran kids through drills, helped teach them new moves, and mentored them during scrimmages. I was employed by the teams coach. I Have babysat and taken care of pets for neighbors and friends for the past five or so years.
