Hi! My name is Shannon. I have been working with children in an elementary school for about 2 years now. I started as a literacy teacher, getting students on their reading level through AmeriCorps at Cashell Donahoe Elementary, located in Henrico County, Virginia. The school then decided to hire me for this year, 2017-2018, to be a reading interventionist! I have loved all the experience working with students and getting them ready for their grade level reading! I also have met parents through working at the school, which has allowed me to have awesome babysitting opportunities to expand my knowledge of childcare. I have worked with ages as young as 10 months to as old as 15 years. I absolutely love my job and have the end goal to eventually go back to school and get my masters in Counseling for elementary! I have had wonderful experience babysitting two toddlers ages 1 and 3 due to sittercity, and now that my intervention job is ending for the summer, I am excited to have an open schedule that can hopefully fit yours for babysitting/nannying!
