Currently, I am a 26 year old student from Germany who moved to the USA because of my husband and an internship. Back in 2013 I was an au pair in Arlington, Virginia for 1.5 years. I took care of two children, one boy 6 years old and one girl 9 years old. I stayed at their house full time, prepared breakfast, lunch and sometimes dinner. I always got the feedback of being a great cook ;-) I brought the kids to school by car and picked them up again. After school I made them snacks and we did homework together. Normally, the time as an au pair ends after a year but I extended it for half a year because I was so happy with my host children and host family and of course they were happy with me. They were also one boy (6) and one girl (11) and I spent lots of time with them outside in nature, playing games. I took them hiking at Great Falls and played Spanish and German board games. We are still contact, however they moved away so I cannot watch them anymore. Reference is included! My oldest brother has two children and as their god mother I spent lots of time with them since birth. It’s one boy and one girl, currently the ages of 5 and 8 but I have spent time with them since day 1. In Germany I used to be a cheerleading coach for the peewees and enjoyed doing this besides studying. Currently I am interning in the USA and planning on staying here with my husband. I would love to spend more time with kids again as my schedule is very flexible and I really miss it. I also am a German tutor for students (currently a Chinese student). I enjoy teaching my native language. In my free time I love doing yoga and sports. I also love animals and follow a vegan diet. As I cannot have any pets of my own currently I would love to watch them as well. I feel like animals complete a family even more :-) Being kind and compassionate are important values to me and I really enjoy educating kids, teaching them about the German culture, even some German words and songs. Spending time outside is what I really like, to go to the pool in the Summer, to go sledding or ice skating in the winter, and to parks any time of the year. I have as much fun at the playgrounds as kids do. I do not only watch them play, I actually like to participate an be a part of it. Kids keep you young and they are our future!
