For 8 years I had a year-round, in-home childcare facility. I incorporated a safe, nurturing, instructive, and fun learning environment for children (ages 0-12). I facilitated daily play and engaging activities. I coordinated weekly field trips. I assisted school aged children in understanding and completing daily homework assignments and projects. I duplicated age appropriate lesson plans during the summer/winter/spring breaks to promote on-going learning. I worked closely with parents to tailor childcare to their specific child/children’s needs. I have two boys (ages 10 and 13), and for the past 5 years I have been a regular volunteer at their school in Suffolk. I assist in the library, computer lab, book fairs, and in various activities held throughout the school year. I enjoy working with children so much that I have 83 college credits (to include an Associate’s Degree in Social Sciences) dedicated to earning a Bachelor’s & Master’s Degree in Read more School Guidance Counseling. I will also be renewing my CPR and First Aid Certification in the coming week ((September 17, 2018).
