Hello families, Welcome to Great Start Child Development Home! In my program I offer a gently structured, yet flexible routine, and a very warm, calm, pleasant environment for my clients. I serve children ages six weeks to four years, Monday through Friday and my rate is reasonable. My program is based on Child Development which focuses on how children learn- taking into account the stages of development. I use the Creative Curriculum for Family Child Care. Children are engaged in developmentally appropriate practices such as reading, writing, story-time, circle-time, art, music & movement, block play, dress-up, sand/water play, outdoor play, and children's choice. These activities are aimed at helping children learn new things and to feel good about themselves and the world around them. My experiences working with children and families include In-home care, child care center, volunteer work in a shelter for abused, abandoned, and neglected children and Virginia Read more Beach City Public Schools. I am a Registered Child Care Provider, participant in the USDA food program, MAT certified (medicine administration), and First/Aid & CPR certified. I hold an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Development, a Certificate in Early Childhood Instruction and a Child Development Associate Teacher Certificate. For many parents, placing our children in another person's care even when they know their child is receiving great care, is a most difficult experience.
