As a junior and senior in high school I was a member of the Bennington Junior Rescue Squad. Being a part of that squad and serving the community, intrigued my interest to help others. After graduating high school, I worked at a nursing home facility where I was a waitress, then worked at a different nursing home facility where I was a housekeeper. I was given the opportunity to work at a group home which houses adults with mental illness. I have been at this job for two and a half years. At this particular job I prepare meals, clean, take clients out for errands and doctors appointments. I am passionate about what I do because every day I can go home with a smile on my face knowing that I have helped someone else. I love to help people and I put great effort and compassion into my work. Read more Working with all different types of people, I have learned how to build a trusting relationship with all clients and I feel that is an important quality to have as well as a caring attitude. Although this job is very rewarding, I also love working with children. I started babysitting when I was 11 years old after taking the American Red Cross babysitting course. I have a big family so their is always at least one or two little ones running around. My sister has four kids and I help her babysit often.
