The past two years, I was fortunate to nanny two wonderful boys in Chicago: a six month-old with a baby mohawk, and a three year-old firefighter-in-training. Though I still keep in touch with these awesome little guys, I recently transitioned out of my role as nanny when I learned I would be moving to Seattle with my partner. Now, after settling into my new home on Bainbridge Island, I'm searching for opportunities to care for children while I pursue work in my field of writing. Prior to nannying in Chicago, I nannied for four school-age kids, one of whom is a child with Autism. I assisted her with ABA therapy, and worked as her summer school aide. Caring for children is an opportunity to nurture each child with the support they need to grow with confidence into the amazing people they're becoming. I love to plan activities like crafts, cooking, and outdoor excursions, but I also love to engage in whatever amazing games kids dream up. Kids should always know they're valued--whether hard at work learning something new or playing a well-loved game--they're important, and they bring so much joy to those of us who get to share time with them. A note on transportation: I've never been a driver. I like to walk and take public transportation. Call it city syndrome. My partner is a wiling chauffeur when available, and I'm very good at getting around on my own. If you're interested in having me care for your children, please message me.
