I am originally from Massachusetts, and moved here by myself nearly three years ago. I came here on vacation, absolutely fell in love with the Pacific Northwest, and drove myself across the country a year later. I am currently working with an amazing family, and spend my days with their two boys, ages 8 and 12. I am looking to expand my hours, and am interested in either full or part time. Working with kids, spending time with and educating them are one of my greatest passions in life. I have yet to experience anything quite so rewarding. I started working with kids when I was 10, volunteering to work at my daycare over two summers. All I wanted was to spend my summer having fun and laughing, while teaching kids to be friendly, respectful, and self-appreciative. I even worked on my birthday, because it was exactly where I wanted Read more to be! After that first summer I was hooked, and babysat whenever possible, even cancelling plans to do so. Most of the families I have worked with, I have done so for many years; two of the best kids I know I met when they were 2 and 5, and babysat them for 8 years. I am still in contact with them, and am so proud of who they have become (they are now 15 and 17, and so tall!). I have spent the past few years as a baker, and absolutely love everything about baking and cooking! I would love to do both or either with your kids, and can also make dinner for you before you get home. I am very health oriented in my cooking, and am very skilled at getting kids to eat the good stuff (in your opinion, not theres). My mother is an 8th grade science teacher, having worked as an educator at both the Boston Museum of Science and New England Aquarium for over 10 years each. I will bring so much of what she has taught me about nature and the world around us into fun activities for your children. I myself have also worked as a tutor and volunteer in various science fairs, and am highly adept at homework help. I grew up with two brothers and a sister, one bathroom, and am very familiar with and appreciative of sharing. I was also a girl scout, played many sports growing up, and love playing outside as much as possible. I have a dog and 5 cats (3 are recent additions from mommas' great escape), and absolutely love animals. Choosing me would mean a great time for your kids, and peace of mind for you.
