Dear Future Family, I am writing to introduce myself and to tell you why working with children means so much to me. I have been involved with childcare for most of my life. I come from a very large family and so I have been given many opportunities to gain experience caring for infants and children. It brings me a great deal of satisfaction and joy to nurture and inspire little ones to grow and explore and learn. I believe that children flourish best with structure and consistency, balanced with love, fun and play. I began caring for children in a more formal arrangement, as a long-term live-in nanny for one girl, during my late teens. Later my sister and I ran a successful in-home daycare for many years. We had the opportunity to care for as many as 7 children at a time; ranging in ages from infants to Read more eight-years-old. I have also taken several college courses on child psychology and lifespan development that have expanded my base of knowledge and insight. I have had the opportunity to raise three children of my own, learning firsthand how powerful structure and consistency can be when balanced appropriately with excitement and fun. My children are all teenagers now and they have grown into individuals that I am truly proud of. I am very excited to begin working with children again. It is the most rewarding work for me.
