Cassie’s Bio

I have been employed in a childcare setting for over 10 years. Starting out as a babysitter, I found my calling as an educator for children. I got my degree in Arts and Science, and have since continued to take classes to expand my knowledge in the field that I am so passionate about. I am state certified in Early Childhood Education, and have a current CPR/First Aid certification. I am also a participant in the WA state Early Achievers program conducted by UW.
My experiences are focused in Early Childhood Education; ages 1 week to 5 years, although I am just as comfortable watching and interacting with older children too. I joined the Navy right out of high school and have gained over 6 years of experiences as a Police Officer, while also maintaining civilian jobs in an education setting over those 6 years.
My love for children radiates when I interact with them. I am extremely positive in my interactions and enforce behavior changes with positive reinforcements, rather than negative ones. Throughout my years of training, I have gained a lot of knowledge in how to relate to children and ask open-ended questions in order to get their imagination flowing and solve problems on their own. Every child needs to feel special and loved, and reinforcing good behavior and positive interactions allows them to shine! I love art, science, and helping to develop knowledge through play-based activities.
I am currently in management at a Preschool in Redmond, and have established relationships with each individual child, as well as their amazing families. I spend about 50% of my day in the office, and the other 50% in classrooms to help manage classrooms and maintain ratios. I can be put in to any situation/classroom and make it a positive learning experience for children of all ages. The ability to think quick on my feet and employ tactics to get the children involved is so important to keep them learning and happy!
I take great pride in what I do as an educator. I have worked with many diverse cultures and I have a good amount of knowledge in working with disabled children. What is most important is that I have a level of patience that is rare for others. I am nurturing and tolerant of tantrums and can diffuse any difficult situation. I can guarantee that you will not be disappointed with my level of care!
I would love to work for you and your family. I am extremely flexible and want to make a long-term commitment to being your childcare provider.
