PLEASE NOTE: Due to a current hip ailment I am currently only able to- 1) consider watching, taking care of children ages 6 and older as I am unable to chase young children around or play with them on the floor, and 2) work in a home without stairs as going up and down stairs are extremely hard on me right now (6 steps or less are ok) until I get hip surgery someday. All of my life I have taken care of children off and on throughout the years. I love doing it because kids are happy and fun, and in turn make me happy. While in junior high and high school, one of my first regular babysitting jobs was for a family with 3 girls in Redmond, WA. When I started I was about 15; the girls were ages 6-mths, 2 yrs and 5 yrs old. I basically Read more watched them grow up, which was really great! As an adult when I began my full-time career as a clerical/secretary-type office worker, I still did part-time child care on the side here and there. I took a departure from it in 2001 until 2013. (I had a miscarriage in 2001.) I've been a mother's helper a few times over the years: Once from 1998 until 2000 when I took care of a Sammamish couple's two girls part time. One girl was an infant and her sister was 2-yrs old. Their mother did things both in and out of the house while I helped with her girls. We'd go for walks, do art projects, read together, and I'd make them some light meals sometimes, etc. In about 2007 I began working for a transportation company that partnered with Hopelink. I did this for about three years - driving children and disabled and low-income people of all ages, to various places all over King County. I left after 3 years and then worked as a temporary at Office Team/Robert Half Employment Agency for 2 years. In Sept, 2013 I was hired as a nanny for a family with two children in Sammamish. I worked for them until Oct. 2015 when I left due to there being a death in my family. I am only looking to do either light part-time child care and light pet care. I own a reliable car with a perfect driving record for any child or pet transportation needs. I will obtain a current DMV report upon request. Thank you in advance for your consideration of me for your childcare (and/or pet care) needs. Sincerely, Connie Ramsey P.S. In consideration of privacy of my previous clients, I will only give references upon a meeting in person at job interviews - not listed here in Sittercity web site.
