I am currently majoring in Elementary Education at Washington State University. Previously, I was majoring in Nursing and was working as a Certified Nursing Assistant. I loved caring for my residents, but I quickly realized that becoming a nurse was not what I was passionate about. I tutored some elementary students while I was in high school and I loved doing that. To certify in my major, I need 80 hours of experience teaching elementary aged children. While "babysitting" does not count towards those hours, it is still important to me to gain experience working with children of different backgrounds. I have taken many courses that relate to childhood education. I also have 3 younger sisters that I have watched since I was 13.
