Hello! My name is Lily and I love working with children. I recently moved to Portland from Seattle where I was working for the Boys & Girls Club doing some admin metrics and volunteer mobilization work, but by far my favorite part of the job was interacting with the children during homework help, high yield learning games, and innovative self expression time. As a teenager I worked for 5 summers at a Performing Arts camp in my hometown of Sonoma, California teaching dance, music, circus and arts and crafts classes. When I moved to San Francisco for college I continued to work summer camps out of a yoga studio in the Richmond district teaching yoga, art, and leading fun and educational field trips around the greater bay area. While in school I also babysat for a few families, before falling in love with one family in particular (with an 8 Read more mo. old boy, a 3 and 6 yr. old girl, and a 7 yr old boy) and becoming their full time nanny. I have experience working with children of all ages, and believe that firm yet compassionate communication is the gateway to success with gaining the trust and respect of kids. I understand that play is fundamental in how children explore and come to understand themselves and the world around them, and I pride myself on being able to engage the child's imagination and excite them about learning new things. I would love to meet and get to know your undoubtedly wonderful kid(s), and given the chance I feel like I would be a great caregiver and role model for your child/children.
