I started babysitting when I was 13 and the oldest of five kids. I cared for my sibs, including an infant sister. So when I had my own kids, I was no stranger to changing diapers and putting babies to sleep. I was a hands-on father, volunteering at their schools and, later, an active home-school teacher for my children and also for kids in other home-school families. I also taught Saturday morning art classes for children at the city's art museum and organized team sports events. Now my kids have grown, my wife and I live in the Pacific Northwest, and I miss working with children. Now, during summer, I am available week-day early mornings and week day evenings.
