Hello! My name is Rachael Wolfe and I am twenty-five years old. I grew up in San Diego California and moved to West Seattle in October of 2013. I have extensive experience with infants, children and teens and I am very comfortable working with any age group. For several years as a teen I provided child care for local families and small home bible studies. There were typically eight to twelve preschool aged children present at the bible studies and I became very comfortable with supervising and interacting with a moderately large amount of children. When I was sixteen I taught a Sunday school class for three year olds. It was a very fun and rewarding experience. After graduating High School in 2007 I became a part-time nanny for a family with five children ranging in age from infant to eight years old. As the children grew older there was Read more less of a need for my help and I eventually moved on and pursued other avenues of work including being a barista, a house cleaner and a customer service rep for a cosmetics company. In 2013 I spent the summer at a Salvation Army camp in Eatonville, WA called Camp Arnold. I spent two months there as a counselor for at risk youth ages thirteen to seventeen. Our part of camp was called Tahoma and was the "wilderness" camp which meant no electricity or running water. The other counselor, our two program directors and I created our summer program from the ground up. We did everything from assemble tents, to preparing meals around the camp fire to thinking of fun games and activities for the kids to enjoy. I grew a lot that summer and although I treasure the period spent at Camp Arnold it was during that time that I came to realized that I wanted a future working with young children. In October of 2013 I moved to West Seattle and began working at the day care Growing Footprints. I am currently working there now. It is an incredible job and I love the twelve children I get to spend my days with. A typical day for me here includes supervising the children and playing with them, preparing snacks and meals, cleaning the general areas of the day care and administering any discipline that is needed as a result of a child knowingly breaking the day care rules (hitting, yelling, disobeying staff etc.) I also help plan the monthly staff schedule, the meal schedule and monitor the food and craft inventory.

I would've loved to have more to say. We had really positive interactions with her up until the time she was supposed to arrive at our house. She didn't come. Didn't text. Didn't call. Nothing. Maybe something came up, but a responsible sitter would've reached out. We were left high and dry.
