I am currently a junior at Seattle University majoring in Environmental Studies with an emphasis in early education and communication. I love working with kids and plan on becoming an outdoor educator once I graduate. I love kids and I have a lot of experience working with kids in a variety of settings. For six years I volunteered and eventually was hired at an outdoor school and summer camp back home in California. I was a program aide and assistant field instructor for the Wild Things program, designed for for 4-6 year-olds, for two years. Along with this I also worked as a cabin leader for 4 years for various groups of about 20 fifth graders. My responsibility have ranged from taking care of sick kids, to snack time, reading bed time stories and organizing activities for the kids. Along with my work at the outdoor school, I have also Read more worked with the American Youth Soccer Organization as a coach for kids with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). I am the Vice President of Best Buddies at my school, which is a club that helps create one-on-one friendships between students at SU and members of the community IDD. I have worked with other organizations with kids programs along with babysitting in high school. Working with kids is what I am planning on doing for my career, and would love to get as much experience as possible. I love kids energy and refreshing outlook on life.
