Driven by a feeling that children were a wealth of untapped potential, I began babysitting the tot down the street at age 12, and became the trusted neighborhood babysitter for over 20 kids for 5 years as a high schooler. This inspired me to pursue a career in youth education -- I've worked and played with kids in formal outdoor, backcountry, and kitchen settings, teaching them an array of skills from shoe-tying to jullienning to native plant identification to rock climbing safety. I believe curiosity is invaluable, and as such, my top priority as a facilitator of growth and development is to support curiosity. That's where magic happens :)
