I am a graduate student at CSU, currently living in Fort Collins. When I am not studying, cooking, reading, or practicing my Spanish (I'm still learning!), I like to keep busy doing childcare. I've been working in childcare for the last several years, though I just recently relocated to Colorado from Seattle, so I am working on connecting with new families here. Individual and community health and equitable access to healthy food are very important to me, and I enjoy talking to kids about food, nutrition, and their own role in the community food systems. Because of my interest in food and environmental justice, I enjoy cooking and involving children in food preparation. I worked for two years as a food and environmental educator at a non-profit educational farm in the Seattle area, so I have experiencing working with and teaching children, adolescents, and adults in food, nutrition, and environments. I love taking kids on bike rides and picnics when the weather is nice, and to do art projects on indoor days.
