My name is Kathryn Dawson. I'm 24 years old, have some post high school under my belt and am underway in an on-the-side business project I've been working on locally the past year. I've learned to enjoy life and choosing to believe the best in people is a much easier way to live life. :) I've volunteered with infants- kids 3 years old from ages 12-18 with my church. I was a live in nanny for a year and a half (I only left to move back home to take care of my grandma who was dying of cancer). Most of the jobs I've gotten have been from referrals or people who have noticed who I was from a distance (as i volunteered etc.) and approached me because I had earned their trust and respect in other areas of my life and in what they saw in me from the Read more way I worked with the kids at the church and was diligent. Babysitting through out my teen years and as I'm just finishing up a two year commitment with a family in Seattle I have come to realized I really enjoy teaching kids about outdoors, playing WITH them (opposed to just pointing them to the toys), and teaching them life long values that they carry with them even into adulthood. Something that I strongly value is instilling and teaching by example a healthy self image, communication and interaction with other children and also with adults, and the importance of keeping good perspective just in life in general. I sincerely want this next generation to be emotionally healthy and whole as they mature. I truly believe the more loved and secure they feel accompanied by enjoyable structure, the more equipped they will be in the future.
