In terms of “nanny experience”, or “official nanny training”, I have none. That said, the life I’ve lived for the past 30 years has prepared me to be a nanny more than any “official” training ever could. I have been married for the past 30 years, my husband and I living in the north end of Tacoma. I’ve been a stay at home mom for our 3 children, who are now independent adults. Over the years, I’ve had several part time jobs, but found few as fulfilling as being a wife and a mom. That said, I did enjoy 6 years as a preschool assistant working with children ages 2 through 6. In addition to my experience with preschool children, I currently volunteer at Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital rocking babies in the NICU. My children are each 3 years apart (boy, girl, boy), and grew up in a 6000 square Read more foot house. It was my job, as a stay at home mom, to manage the house and everyone’s separate schedule. It was important to me to have all of our ‘work’ done when my husband came home so that we could enjoy the evenings and weekends together as a family. This may sound ‘old fashioned’, but it worked for us, and I was lucky enough to have a husband whose employment allowed us to live on one income. I realize that this isn't always the case, and I’d find joy in helping a hard working family with all the day-to-day tasks of raising children and running a household, so that when they are home they are able to enjoy their time together as well. While my children were still living at home, we had a dog, a cat and a swimming pool. I did all the driving, and our house was the one all friends ended up at. My children were all well above average students, and we took their education seriously. They also participated in piano lessons, the historical society, baseball, water polo, swimming, etc.. Each of them are very different from one another, but I always encouraged them to follow whatever made them happy. Fast-forwarding to today, our oldest son owns his own business, our daughter has her masters degree in psychology , and our youngest son is getting his Phd in physics. More important to me is not what they do, but the people they’ve become. They are all compassionate people with exceptional character, and empathetic spirits. As for me, I enjoy traveling, boating, hiking, gardening, and reading. I would love to connect with you in order to hear your needs, wants and expectations.
