I am graduating from Baylor University this upcoming may, with a BSED in Health, Kinesiology, and Leisure Studies, working towards a career as a general practice physician’s assistant. I am CPR certified, have a clean driving record, level headed in stressful situations, and (even though I haven't experienced it first hand) would trust myself to manage a child's medical emergency if put in a situation to do so. I have extensive experience with wide varieties of families, with different values, parenting styles, family pets (horses, dogs, cats, birds, fish - OK, but reptiles/rodents are not my favorite) and expectations of my role as a nanny (meal prep, cleaning, helping with homework, driving too and fro, and supervising play dates). In high school, I babysat quite frequently for a family with four children for about four years. The children ranged from 6 months old to 6 years old. Being able to Read more watch them grow up and have such a wonderful connection with the family made my time working for them thoroughly enjoyable. I worked as the main caregiver for a women's bible study that met once a week for two hours, for about two years, responsible for any/all children 6 years old and younger. I never knew how many children I would be responsible for in one night, which would vary from 2 - 8, depending on what mothers came to bible study that evening. I have also been an alternate option to summer camp for a pre-teen, who wasn't fond of her mothers' list of day camp options, so I was her "buddy" for two weeks during the summer. I helped her mentally prepare to the inevitability of high school by talking out her concerns and providing an outlet for her to gain self-confidence - I introduced her to Lincoln, my 12-year-old quarter horse, resulting in most of our days together spent in the pasture. She grew tremendously during our time together, and I've been able to remain a friend to her, offering helpful advice and support to her during her time in high school. Additional Qualifications: Amateur fort builder, expert in glitter management during arts & crafts, grade-A piggyback ride giver, and I have a no-loss record with convincing kiddos to eat all of their vegetables. I am responsible, honest, trustworthy, safe, attentive, organized, personable, dependable, coordinated, and committed to taking the very best care of your children, all while being a positive role model with strong morals and a solid foundation of family values.
