My name is Sierra Batten and I am freelance writer in the midst of writing a novel. I'm currently self employed and have an online shop, selling handmade jewelry and rustic style wood furniture. My fiancee and I are currently converting a van to travel the countryside and write a blog of our adventures. We try to live a simple naturalistic lifestyle and are working towards becoming self sufficient, for a time on the road and eventually settling down on our own plot of land. I'm looking for opportunities and references to become a property caretaker, as I grew up moving around care taking on ranches in Montana and New Mexico, while my parents owned two farms in Minnesota raising livestock, and a cabin in Idaho. I also have customer service skills as I was a server/prepcook for a retirement home in Lewistown, and a housekeeper/maintenance person for Vacasa Vacation Rentals here in Washougal. My niece just turned two this year and she is quite the cutie and sometimes quite the handful. I have watched her on occasion while her grandma is out. She loves to listen to music and bounce around. I have baby sat for friends and neighbors throughout my teen years. Our neighbors in Lewistown had two kids, an eight year old boy, and a five year old girl. They loved it when I came over to visit and whenever they were scared when their mom was running late they'd cross the street to my place to hang out until she did. I'd keep an eye on them when their mom was out. I also had another neighbor who had a young son. The mother played softball and she had me go to the park with her to watch not only her son, but two of her friends as well. It was a fun experience and taught me a good deal of responsibility when came to watching people's kids outside the comfort and safety of their home. I've also house/pet sat for friends and co-workers in the past, as I am always reliable and there when they needed me most.
