I am a Washington certified teacher with 5 years of full time teaching and 11 years of substitute teaching. I majored in Home Economics and minored in health and human development. Eighteen years ago, I decided to work with foster children and became licensed. This led to adopting my two beautiful daughters (now grown). I have since obtained my respite care license to support other families in the foster care system. I also have an adult son with two sons of his own whom are my delight. I am current with Infant/Child CPR and First Aid. As a Foster Care Parent, I took many parenting classes to help with attachment, behavior and socialization. These classes have educated me on providing clear simple expectations with positive affirmation. I will use these techniques with any child in my care. I believe in supporting parents with fostering positive behavior, generosity and kindness. I Read more also believe in encouraging children to explore their own talents and personality to build confidence in themselves. Exploration both outdoors and indoors is important for child development and I will provide both. I enjoy and am intrigued to observe the world through a child’s eyes as well as point this out that I notice. I will achieve this through outings to the park, zoo, Science Center, parks. Library, games, art and etc. Playtime is essential as well, and I will provide many opportunities for play. I would love to support you in your parenting as your nanny.
