There are so many great choices for childcare out there, how do you know which one is the right one for you and your family? I have worked with children for over the last 10 years in many different settings: daycare, before and after school programs, as a nanny, as a babysitter and as a preschool sports instructor. 2. I have a fun, play-based, child-led curriculum that makes learning fun. Our daily activities promote social, emotional, language and physical development, help develop independence and problem-solving skills, and introduce the children to basic concepts in art, math, science, social studies, language, music, more. Because I believe that children learn best when they can experience it, we do messy art projects, we explore new objects in the sensory table, we go to local library story times and other trips in the community, and we play outside daily (weather permitting). 6. I believe that parents and caregivers should work together to create the best future for each child as an individual. I have "daily care sheets" to help me communicate with parents about their children's day, which helps to keep an open communication about parents' expectations for care and for me to share the special achievements each child accomplishes during the day. Nikki has worked with our family for about six months, and is an excellent caretaker and a wonderful person. She truly cares about the kids, and has a lot of experience with many different ages, personalities, and challenges. She works hard to give the kids positive experiences and keep them busy and active. She has a natural manner with them, and the kids enjoy her very much. She is easy to talk to, and pleasant in her manner. I enjoy our conversations, too! One of her best traits as a caretaker of my kids is her willingness and desire to learn about our family and the quirks and challenges of each kid. She does not expect them all to behave perfectly or the same, and truly understands each child's individualism. One of our kids can be an extra handful with some ADHD-related behavioral challenges, and Nikki has been FANTASTIC with him. She is very consistent in her responses in the moment, and happily works within our discipline constructs. She is also very observant, and is great at giving helpful feedback about what seems to be working for her with all of our children. Nikki is also extremely reliable and responsible. She is always on time, and she takes her work seriously. She is timely in her communications, and flexible. I am able to leave my children with her and know that she can handle any situation and make mature, responsible, thoughtful decisions.
