I am currently a junior at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee studying social work. My ultimate goal is to work with the mentally disabled professionally. Throughout high school, I spent quite a bit of time babysitting a family with 4 kids ranging in age from 6 months to 10 years old. I always had a good time playing with them, especially when the weather was nice and we could go outside. My dad set up the job for me because I needed to start making money for college and his clients needed someone to watch their children. As I got busier with extra curricular activities, I became unable to work every time they needed me, so I had to branch out and apply for other jobs. My two most recent employments have been with adult group homes, which require fairly extensive training regarding conduct, care giving, balanced meal preparation, and of Read more course, emergency preparedness. I currently still make the 3 hour drive home every other weekend to work until I find something relatively steady in Milwaukee. I also volunteer at Hartford University School with the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. This is my third year with the organization, and I intend to continue with them at least until graduation.
