I have 20 years of experience caring for people with all different kinds of disabilities. I have been in health care for 20 years. I have nieces and nephews that I have helped raise from infants to; the oldest niece is 17 and my youngest nephew is 9. I started babysitting when I was 10 years old. And my first kids I babysat were identical twins that the girl had a respiratory issue. So she was my first scary trial. No problems though and I watched them every Friday night all night. No I am not current on my First Aide/CPR but that would not take much to go to get done. I love children but am unable to have my own. Babysitting and my pets and working in health care, that’s my way of getting as close to my own kids as I will ever get. I’m ok with Read more that so I put all of me into it. If I am caring for someone’s child(ren), they are treated as if they are my own. I wouldn’t want anyone to mistreat my child so that is not what you would get from me! I am a smoker BUT I DO NOT SMOKE WITH SOMEONE ELSES CHILD BY ME OR IN MY CAR! I feel that they aren’t my children so I am not allowed to harm them and smoking in a confined space or next to them, breaks my safety code. That’s my rule and my biggest issue with babysitters/nannies.
