I am currently in the Emergancy Medical Technician program at Gateway where we are required to have our CPR license and be up to date on our vaccinations including flu shot. I currently am one of the many that take care of my older brother with Down Syndrome. That includes personal hygiene, dietary limitations, 24 hour supervision and taking him out for a daily activity to release some of his energy. My previous job was in a CBRF with a memory care unit which is one step under a nursing home. I worked there for a year. From that I have experience with handling transfers, catheters, medications, breathing equipment and feeding along with daily needs such as personal hygiene and cleanliness. I was able to receive a lot of training from that, such as Dementia and Alzheimer's training, First aid and Choking training, Medication Administration training, Fire Safety Training and Read more Standard Precaution Training.
