Beginning in high school, I started working with children in the Park District summer program in Oswego, IL called Kid's Connection. We planned meals, activities, and field trips for children ages K-5. We aimed to have all activities revolve around a central theme, and make them both interactive and educational. Upon graduating HS, I began college at Alverno College in Milwaukee, WI. There i went into Music Therapy, and had a special interest in working in individuals with Autism and other disabilities. Through college, I was able to conduct clinicals with individuals of a range of ages. We conducted specified music activities aimed at addressing pre-determined goals set forth by the therapist. The goals addressed anything from fine/gross motor skills to social interaction. Upon graduating from Alverno with my BA, I started to work in an office position, however continued to seek out a way to give purpose to my Read more life, and later volunteered and later worked with Milwaukee Public School's Recreational Therapy program. After moving to West Bend WI, (and having to leave MPS's Rec Therapy program due to length of travel to south side), I discovered Sitter City. I have experience working with newborn-high school age children of all different abilities, and enjoy planning and learning what activities are both fulfilling in terms of learning, but also fun!
