Having just moved to Charleston and having no personal contacts here, I was very anxious about having to hire a petsitter for my cat and house bunny out of the blue. I'm so relieved and grateful to have found Deborah! She provided great references, and she texted me updates and adorable photos during every visit. She wasn't afraid to send questions as they came up, which I found really reassuring, and she very kindly cared for my plant and brought up my mail as well. The house was immaculate when I returned, and both my pets were happy and healthy in every way. The directions I had given her for various aspects of care were lengthy, detailed, and complicated (OK, obsessive), but she followed them to a tee and told me that she appreciated the specific guidance. True or not, I loved hearing that! ;) It was also clear that she had real affection for the animals. My cat is extremely shy with strangers, hissing and sometimes swatting when he encounters them, and I had told Deborah that she likely wouldn't even see him because he would almost certainly be hiding throughout her visits. That has always been the case with previous petsitters. By her last day, he was rubbing himself against her leg and allowing her to pet his head a bit. I want to say that that's a miracle, but I think it may have more to do with her patience and skills! I recommend her enthusiastically and without reservation.
