I always knew I wanted to stay-at-home with my own children, but ideally, I planned to return to college to obtain my Early Childhood Education degree once they were enrolled in school themselves. My oldest showed some signs of special needs long before his school journey even began, and it became clear that home was where I was needed most. He has been doing well, mainstreamed for years now and I have taken on some part time jobs working with kids, that still allowed me to be there for my own. I worked at Absolute Fitness in the nursery watching and planning activities for children while their parents worked out. I then took ABA training and was an after school therapist for a middle school boy with Asbergers. After that, I worked as Homework Helper for the Boys & Girl’s Club and received CPR/First-aid training. The last year, I took Read more on a nanny position for a blended family with 5 children and did school drop-off/pick-ups and helped care for their newborn until he was ready for daycare. Kids have always been drawn to me, and I to them! I love any kind of work that involves helping children!
