Ever since I was a little girl, I attended summer camps every summer. Some of my best memories came from these camps, and I always remembered how much my counselors had an impact on me. Once I turned 18 I decided to become a summer camp counselor so that I can make the same impact these counselors had on me. It was during this time that I discovered my passion for working with kids. Although I was tired a lot of the time (since being a counselor was a 24/7 job), I really enjoyed creating memories with these kids. My typical day consisted of waking up the kids and helping them get ready for the day, supervising them in various activities, and being there for them when they needed someone to talk to. I would really love to continue working with kids by becoming a babysitter for the summer. I Read more believe I am qualified for a babysitting job because I have worked with younger kids my whole life. I have been involved as a leader in summer camp, Pathfinders (boy scouts/girl scouts of the Seventh Day Adventist religion), as well as in the Philippines where I served as a student missionary for 8 months. I have been CPR certified (although I need to renew my license this summer), been assigned as a counselor/teen counselor to younger kids, and also taught various classes such as ukelele class, camping skills class, etc. Although I've never been a babysitter, I believe I am still fit for the job since I have had so many experiences with younger kids before.
