I love children. I'm an older sister to 4 siblings and I've always been the mommy towards them. Since i was younger, childcare has always somehow been a part of my life. when I was in elementary school, my mother had her own in home daycare and i always loved to assist her. Id play with and entertain the younger children with her. When she stopped doing that, she became pregnant with my youngest sister. I was 8 years old and in the third grade when she had my little sister. At the time, my mother was working overnight and my step dad was working during the day so I was the one in charge of watching my newborn sister. I changed her diapers, fed her, clothed her, put her to bed, ect all at the age of 8-10. I watched numerous childcare videos to learn what not to do Read more and what to do while taking care of my baby sister, and I also got CPR certified at the YMCA. Eventually, she started going to my grandmas around the age of 2 so I wasn't watching her anymore. Around the age of 14-15, I wanted to get back into babysitting. Me and one of my siblings decided to make a babysitting company. We made business cards and she got certified for CPR as well. We got a couple jobs but not many die to our young age. By the time I was 16, I was doing babysitting jobs on my own for my fathers Coworkers. I babysat for about a year and a half by myself then started a job in retail and quit babysitting. Also, during the summer of 2014, i was unemployed and needed extra money so I babysat once again for my neighbor. I watched her 2 year old son for 3 months every morning from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Now that I'm older, I'd like to get back into it. Children have always made me happy and i like being able to know that i make someones life a little easier by taking away the stress of leaving children while you work, travel, ect. I also like knowing that i can make n impact on children because they are our future. I don't have an age preference, but I love to care for newborns/infants.
