I am currently on track to graduate in Spring 2022 with my Bachelor's of Science in Molecular Biology. I have shadowed a pediatrician and ER doctor in the past and voluntered at Kapiolani Hospital. I also volunteered at local free clinics in Guatemala, where I gained valuable hands-on care with children and infants. I finished my Nurse Assistant course on 05/28/21 and am now BLS certified. I will be taking the CNA exam in the upcoming months. I genuinely love children of all ages! During my volunteering shifts at Kapiolani, I often interact and play with the children. We prioritize the needs and wants of the children and we play by their rules! My volunteering shifts were honestly the highlight of my Read more week. I have about 7 months of experience with an infant (5.5 months - 13 months of age). I am also an experienced tutor in elementary-middle school math, algebra, and chemistry. In addition, I am pet friendly! I have one dog and one cat and they are best friends! I will care for any pets as I care for your children. While I am located in Kalihi Valley, I have a car readily available. I am willing to drive out to almost anywhere on the island. Here is some additional background information :) Growing up, I had this dream of becoming a pediatrician, but as I grew older and started to question my motives and goals of entering the healthcare field, I realized that a pediatrician did not actually fit. This realization came to me last semester and now, I am taking additional pre-nursing classes that will allow me to take an accelerated second degree program in nursing! I hope to ultimately become a NICU nurse!! One of the key moments that led me to this career change was when I was volunteering at Kapiolani Hospital. I always saw the nurses interacting with the patients and they were always by their side. I did not see as strong of a relationship between the physicians and the patients. This patient interaction is something that I desire strongly and what ultimately motivates me in my journey to become a nurse today
