I have worked as a tutor and sitter before in a volunteering program at a church, and through a school program where I got to tutor two 7 graders in Math and English. I enjoy being around children and watching them learn new things. Sometimes younger ages seem to be easier to take care of than older children do. Older children can get bored with a toy within minutes as younger children can be entertained by it for quite a while. However, it is interesting to take care of a variety of children since you can always learn something new from it and every child is different. And I am very meticulous on how to talk to a child and how to act around them since they're at a age when they're still developing their sense of self. I always try to teach them coping skills if they are having Read more a problem, while doing something fun that they can get something out of and if something does not work for them, I plan out alternatives. But the most important thing to me is allowing them to not be indoctrinated, to be themselves, without letting out the importance of boundaries.
