Hi, my name is Brooke! I'm 26 years old and have been working with children for the last 5 years. As a college student, I was employed at the YMCA of Grand Forks and worked with children between the ages of 0-24 months. In 2017, I graduated from the University of North Dakota with a B.A. in Sociology and a minor in Psychology and Criminal Justice. After graduating, I obtained a "Community Expert Variance" which allowed me to accept a job as a Special Education teacher. My job entails working with kids between the ages of 12 to 18 years old however I work mainly with 12 to 15 year-olds. Over the last two years, I have worked with kids with severe emotional/behavioral problems, kids with significant cognitive delays, and kids with specific learning disabilities. These kids have taught me how to see life from a different perspective and have Read more ultimately given me a newfound purpose in life. They have shown me that every kid needs that 'one' person they can always turn too which is why I've decided to get my Masters in School Counseling starting next spring!
