I retired from the oil/gas industry after 35 years in 2016. I traveled a great deal for the first two years of retirement to my dream destinations. Now I would like to give back. I never was blessed to have children of my own but I enjoy getting to play a small part in their growing up. I was able to work part- time at a local elementary school for awhile and thoroughly enjoyed working with the kids. I also spent a couple of years listening and helping children read. I host foreign exchange students. Currently, I have a student from Spain that will be with me until the end of May and then in August, I will host a young lady from France for the 2020-2021 school year. Since I host exchange students, I will only accept jobs that I can care for children in my own home. I Read more want to be home for my exchange kids and be able to take them to their extracurricular activities. Since they are away from their parents for 10 months, I feel it is important to be available for them. I feel that having these students is also a big benefit for your child since they are able to experience a different culture and language which enables them to expand their educational horizons. I would like to care for your child like they were my own grandchild - with lots of love and patience. I would like to take your child to the library, park, museums and other excursions around the area. They will really be a part of my extended family.
